your first question was not so clear ;)
this feature is not more available on mybatis3, the easier ways to
obtain the same result is, once obtained the mapped objects,
marshaling them to XML using a 3rd party technoligies such JAXB or
Apache Commons-Betwixt.

Alternatively, you might consider using XStream -
http://xstream.codehaus.org/, it's somewhat faster than the
competition.
