Eduardo posted this in another thread, but I re-posted with a different subject line to help get some more attention...
If you've ever posted an issue to ANY Google Code project (including MyBatis), you know how annoying this is. This will help us more quickly identify high priority issues and organize the components that they affect.
We always knew it was annoying, but we recently found an issue that we didn't think should have sat in the queue for over a year... because it defaulted to "Low" priority and was easily overlooked given all of the other default labels.
Click the link below and star it up! Make ALL of Google Code better, not just our project. It's two clicks! :-) Cheers, Clinton --- Hi guys,
Right now this site holds quite a few projects (mybatis, migrations, generator, spring, guice, scala, jpetstore...). But the issue tracker does not let the user specify a component/project while filling an issue. This creates a bit of a mess. All issues are mixed thus it is very difficult for us to find those that are critical and fix them in a short time. We filled an issue in google code tracker asking for a change in the tracker. But Google team asked us to star the issue if we want the it to be fixed soon. So all we want you to do is to go here: http://code.google.com/p/support/issues/detail?id=9269&thanks=9269&ts=1328370855 And click on the star!!!! :) Big thanks for your help! |

The issue tracker is btw. the only downside with mybatis compared to ibatis. JIRA is so much better from a usability point of view ;-) --- Original Nachricht --- Absender: Clinton Begin Datum: 07.02.2012 19:00 > Eduardo posted this in another thread, but I re-posted with a different > subject line to help get some more attention... > > If you've ever posted an issue to ANY Google Code project (including > MyBatis), you know how annoying this is. The reality is, a lot of google UI stuff sucks. It seems things are
going down hill. I'm a bit afraid for Android too, the market might just slip back into Apple's hands if Android 4.0 is what is causing all the stupidity in the Google Nexus. Well, I like google code.
It is fast, simple, intuitive and... works! But the tracker is too simple. I am pretty sure that is intentional. I suppose they just thought that one googlecode project will host one java project and they wanted to get rid of anything that was not essential. Maybe they simplified too much. Or simply they do not expect many multi-project sites like this one. The tracker is now several years old and it looks like it is the same as it was in the firs day :) As Kai said, there is a lot to improve until it gets as good as JIRA. BTW, 35 stars. We are already on the first page. Thank you guys! |

We're at 43! Google has confirmed that they will prioritize it if we get to 100! Thanks Google!
So let's do it! I agree that Google code is excellent. This is my biggest(only?) complaint. FWIW, I think we're among the top Java projects on Google code. I don't see a star on this page. Where should I search? Have I to
register anywhere? Ingmar Am 08.02.2012 15:36, schrieb Clinton Begin: > We're at 43! Google has confirmed that they will prioritize it if we > get to 100! Sorry about the double post... Gmail fail.
The other thing I was going to mention though was that it's not just useful for multi-project situations. Even reasonably sized projects can have categories or feature areas that users can easily identify and set when submitting an issue or feature request. So I thin it will benefit many people and projects.
Cheers, Clinton

Don't worry, if our project alone can't make it, I'll solicit aid from other projects... I'm sure we're not unique in this opinion, given how their issues lists also look like:
New Low --- ---- ---- ---- ... New Low --- ---- ---- ---- ... New Low --- ---- ---- ---- ... New Low --- ---- ---- ---- ... New Low --- ---- ---- ---- ... New Low --- ---- ---- ---- ... New Low --- ---- ---- ---- ... New Low --- ---- ---- ---- ... New Low --- ---- ---- ---- ... New Low --- ---- ---- ---- ...
